Try Brunch Church This Sunday

Church around tables.

Good food. Real conversation.

What to expect

  • We gather around tables

    We share a meal

We read Scripture, hear a teaching

    We talk about it together

    Worship and share communion together.

  • Glad you asked! We have a unique gathering rhythm so PLEASE check our calendar before planning a visit.

    During the School year: SEPT-MAY

We gather for brunch church every 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th Sunday, and gather in homes for “microchurch” every first Sunday (there is often one at Webber - our normal location, but most are in homes)

  • No, you don’t :) But you will be greeted. We are a relational community, and we want to make sure we say hello and take the chance to get to know you if you are willing. There is wonderful conversation around the meal, and meaningful discussion around tables; however, listening is always a gift you can give, and participation in the discussion is not mandatory.

  • Many North City Folks are a part of a family. Kids are an important and vibrant part of our gathering and our community. Kids of all ages join in the meal and even some singing. Shortly after the meal, there is an opportunity for them to participate in engaging programming designed for their developmental stage. This is led by our wonderful family life team, they will learn bible stories, play games, and engage in meaningful discussion with their peers. You can fill out new family information when you walk in, so you can securely check your children in and out of the classrooms.

  • You’re welcome here.

Many people come with questions, curiosity, or uncertainty.

You don’t have to know what to say or believe in order to pull up a chair.

  • Brunch Church is a space to explore faith honestly.

There’s room for real questions and real conversations.

  • No commitment necessary.

You can come once or come often.

There’s no pressure to sign up or join.

  • Our service is usually under 90 minutes

  • Important question! You want to know what you are eating. Most Sundays our food is prepared by Jail Breakers Catering. Chef Duncan is a gifted chef and makes some amazing meals for us each week.

Chef not only makes amazing meals, but as he does he is working with folks coming out of incarceration to give them real world Job training to help them re-enter the work force. Our meals both meet a need for us and fuel a neighborhood mission.
There are always Gluten Free options!

WEBBER PARK | 10 AM

Come experience church around a table. At North City, our Sunday gatherings look different — we begin with a meal together, share a few moments of live worship, and then hear a short story from Jesus that leads into honest conversation around the table. Kids join at the table for the meal too, and there’s space for real questions and real connection. Our gatherings start at 10am on Sundays at Webber Park. We’d love to save you a seat this Sunday.

Meet Pastor JD

Hey there,
Visiting a church for the first time can feel intimidating, and I’m really grateful you’re even considering Brunch Church. It’s one thing to try a new church — it’s another to try a new way of gathering. Many of the people who now call North City home were once where you are, wondering if they should take that first step. We care deeply about our neighbors, one another, and growing in our relationship with God — and for us, that happens best around a table. We’ve got a saying around North City, “There is always room at the table”, and that means there’s room for you.

“So… what kind of church are you?”

That’s a fair question. People often want to know what kind of church we are. While we’re connected to the Evangelical Covenant Church and rooted in long-standing Christian tradition, what ultimately brings us together isn’t a denomination or a tight set of boundaries — it’s Jesus. We’re a Jesus-centered community. We engage with scripture thoughtfully and strive to be shaped by it, we gather around His life and teaching, and we believe transformation happens as we follow Him together. North City is shaped by relationships with the Agile Resource Network, Mill City Church, and the wider ECC family — but our center is Christ.

  • What brings us together isn’t a tight set of boundaries or a denomination — it’s Jesus.

We gather around His life and teaching, take Scripture seriously, and seek to follow Him together.

  • We're a team of passionate thinkers and doers, dedicated to building with purpose and clarity. Collaboration and curiosity drive everything we do.

  • North City is a church plant of the Evangelical Covenant Church and is shaped by relationships with the Agile Resource Network and Mill City Church.

We value historic Christian faith — but our center is Christ.

  • Jesus leads us to… (North City’s values)

    • to love - God, neighbors, and each other

    • to the table

    • to join God’s Mission together

    • to apprentice Jesus

    • to a conscious dependence on the Holy Spirit

    • to Reconciliation, Justice, and Shalom

Plan a visit

When you plan your visit, we’ll send you the details and someone will be there to welcome you.

To us, North City kids are not just the future of the church; they are the church now!

Family life ministry at North City is designed to not only create a fun and engaging environment where your kid(s) can connect with Jesus, we also partner with parents to empower kids in our mission - to love their (little & grown-up)neighbors in the way of Jesus.

Sunday is a big part of empowering your kiddo.

Our team members (north city community members who love your kids already) are ready to lead age-specific programming that is fun, engaging and empowering, and always creates opportunities for you to follow up at home.

Kids join us at the table for the community meal. After the meal we have kids programming from birth-5th grade.

We take safety seriously. All children will check in at the welcome desk. All of our family life team members are background-screened, and we always have at least two team members leading each class.

What do you have for kids?

What is the teaching like?

We do things a little differently. Instead of having a 30-minute sermon every week, we have a teaching that sets us up to discuss the topic and scripture around the table. So come ready to talk about what difference the teaching makes in our everyday lives.

Here is an example of teaching from our Pastor JD. Who was invited to speak at our sending church Mill City Church.

So why do you do table church?

Great question…

Here is a podcast Pastor JD and Pastor emeritus Christian Ann did explaining the why behind why we do table church.

What does it mean to be a table church?

Listen in as Pastor JD expores what it means for North City to be a table (dinner) church and how that shapes who we are as a community.
